Character Education

The Gridley Unified School District has incorporated the Search Institutes 40 developmental assets through out the school district in our efforts to support positive adult/student interactions. The character education instruction is incorporated into our everyday lessons. The Gridley Unified School District has identified nine essential assets we will work on for the 2007-2008 school year.

A group of teacher leaders have developed a schedule of classroom lessons for each of the key assets. The lessons are part of our already excellent instructional program offered our students.

In Fally of 2006 the entire staff of the Gridley Unified School District participated in a full day workshop on the 40 developmental assets. The day of training was meaningful in our efforts because of the great presentation by Clay Roberts. Staff members have been incorporating the skills and techniques learned in August in their everyday lessons and support for our students.
