Counseling Services
At Sycamore Middle School we are fortunate to have a school counselor on campus three days a week, Cynthia Soares. Her time is spent as a California High School Exit Exam (CAHSEE) Counselor and as a social-emotional counselor. She is available to speak with students about issues including but not limited to: academic, school, social, family, friend, suicide, drug and alcohol, and many other developmentally appropriate concerns for sixth, seventh and eighth grade students and their parents.
Cynthia has a master’s in Marriage and Family Counseling and School Counseling with a Pupil Personnel Services (PPS) Credential. She has been on our campus for six years and knows our student population and staff very well.
Cynthia’s office is located in the Sycamore Middle School library and she can be reached both by phone at 846-3636, or by email at csoares@gridley.k12.ca.us . If Cynthia is not able to help your child personally or immediately she will provide referrals out to other area resources which will be better able to help your child.
