Esperanza Announcements

We are always accepting new enrollments at Esperanza HS and Gridley Independent Study.

Esperanza is a 4 hour, 5 day per week program that has been serving Gridley for 45+ years! This program serves actively enrolled 11th & 12th graders (who are at least 16) with the standard core classes and credit recovery with the possibility of early graduation.

Indepdendent Study is designed for short term use and does not allow for credit acceleration nor credit recovery.  It is strictly the current term core classes.

Enrollment in Independent Study is limited and beacuse each student's need for this program is unique, we encourage you to call our office at (530) 846-6721 for more information.

The CDS (Community Day School) program has been closed.

District Announcements

  • Gridley School Wellness Policy

We are in the process of updating our District Wellness Policy.

We would like to put together a group of parents, students, teachers of physical education, school health professionals, school board member, school administrators and members of the public.

This wellness council would revamp the current Policy for the School Board to approve.

The wellness council would also develop goals for nutrition promotion and education, physical activity, and other school-based activities that promote student wellness recommendations for the School Board to adopt.

If you would be interested becoming part of the Wellness Council contact Scott McMillan at
