The Gridley Elementary School District and The Gridley High School District became the Gridley Unified School District on July 1, 1998. The district is comprised of five sites:

- Wilson Intermediate Elementary School (2-5),
- Sycamore Middle School (6-8),
- Gridley High School (9-12)
- Alternative Education Center
- Esperanza Continuation High School (10-12)
- Gridley Community Day School (K-8 and 9-12)
- Gridley Home School (K-12)
- Adult Education
The district is committed to offering educational programs to meet the diversified educational needs of all students in the community. In concert with our regular education programs the district offers extensive support programs designed to meet the full range of socioeconomic educational needs of our students.
The district also strives to enrich student life by offering an excellent music program, a nationally recognized FFA-agriculture program and a full range of extra-curricular sports.
The district’s budget for 2002-03 is approximately $15 million with a staff of 127 certificated teachers and 110 classified employees.
The student population of 2,123 is diverse — 49% white, 44% Hispanic, 5% Asian, 1% Native American, and 1% multi-racial.
The Gridley community is committed to its youth. Parent groups, including an educational foundation, augment and enrich programs and provide grants for teachers and scholarships for students.
What makes Gridley so special is that the educators and community members join together to support and safeguard our students, evidenced by the outstanding after-school programs and our ever growing teen center.
