Classified Summer Assistance Program
Program Overview
The Classified School Employee Summer Assistance Program (CSESAP) allows eligible Gridley Unified School District (GUSD) classified employees to elect to withhold a portion of their monthly pay during the school year. These funds, combined with potential state match dollars, are then paid out during the summer recess to help support employees who do not receive year-round wages.Participation in this program is voluntary and is contingent upon annual state funding and district participation.
Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for participation in the 2026–27 CSESAP, employees must meet the following criteria:
Employment Duration: Must have been employed by Gridley Unified School District for at least one year as of the enrollment deadline.
Assignment Length: Must work in a regular assignment of 11 months or fewer within a 12-month period.
Annual Income Limits: Must have regular annual pay of $62,400 or less from GUSD at the time of enrollment.
District Participation: The district must elect to participate in CSESAP for the 2026–27 school year. Once this election is made and employees are notified, it cannot be reversed.
How the Program Works
Employee Contributions: Participants may choose to withhold up to 10% of their monthly pay during the 2026–27 school year.
State Match: The State of California may provide a dollar-for-dollar match on employee contributions, depending on the level of funding available statewide. Match amounts may be prorated.
Summer Payments: Withheld employee funds, plus any available state match, are issued in one or two payments during summer 2027. Specific payout dates will be announced by GUSD.
What if Employment Ends Early: Employees who separate from the district before the end of the school year may receive their withheld funds but will not receive state match funds.
